岐阜県郡上市： 

岐阜県中央の中濃地域に位置し、飛騨高地の南にある山岳丘陵地帯である。母方の祖父母の生まれ故郷なので幼い頃から何度も訪れてきた。豊かな河川や山々と共にあるこの土地では、縄文時代から人々が暮らしており、伝統的水利用や徹夜踊りなどの文化がある。

長良川： 

岐阜県を縦断する一級河川。源流~中流域が郡上市に流れている。長良川と大支流の吉田川に沿って郡上7か町村が連なっている。中世から近世では運河として利用され物流を支えてきた。

弁柄： 

酸化鉄顔料。弥生時代から濃尾平野で多く生産されていた。縄文時代から土器の彩色などに使われていたこの顔料は、郡上でも建築塗料などの用途で使用されている。

Soil from Gujo: 

Pigments were made from soil collected in Gujo to produce colored undercoats.
